Mom's Must Read Books for 2016

I love to read! However, I don't have much time for reading. Between homeschooling, cleaning and taking care of my husband and kids, it's all I can do to fit in some quiet time. I make sure to wake up early and read my Bible each morning, and I try to read it here and there throughout the day, as well. But this year, I have decided to set a goal of one book per month to read! Most of these books will be encouragement or spiritual growth books, but these are areas that I need to work on!

JANUARY: The Pursuit of God by A.W. Tozer: This books is about deepening your relationship with God, which is my everyday prayer and goal in life. I ordered this book today, so I will start reading as soon as I receive it!

FEBRUARY: The New Strong-Willed Child by James Dobson: I am reading this book for an obvious reason: I have a very strong-willed child {or two}! This books tells how to raise strong-willed children to become men and women of God, and how to shape their will without breaking their spirit.

MARCH: 50 People Every Christian Should Know by Warren Wiersbe: I cannot wait to read this book. Warren Wiersbe looks at the lives of fifty "spiritual giants of the faith", showing us their lives and faith in God. It looks like a great and interesting read!

APRIL: Grace by Max Lucado: Have we settled for a "wimpy grace?" That's what this book explores - how much do we really know about grace?

  1. Lots of great books on this list! You make me realize that I need to read more non-fiction. Love Tozer's writing, just as relevant today as when first published. Wiersbe and Lucado - what's not to like? I'm familiar with most of the other authors, but haven't read a complete book by them yet. Thanks for sharing on Tina's linkup.

    1. Thank you! My 2016 goal is to fill my mind with good things, and I believe these books will be very edifying! I've never read Tozer but my mom loves his works!

    2. His writing is deep, Megan, but I love it. For me, it's slow reading because I keep going back to re-read certain thoughts. Pursuit of God is the only complete book I've read, but what an impact it made! I'd love to know what you think when you've read it, Megan.

  2. I'm so impressed that you've planned your reading for the year! I'm usually doing good to know what I'll read next. I'm also terrible at reading non-fiction. I should totally do this and plan out one book a month! Thanks for the inspiration! I'm excited to read your summaries of each book through the year! I'm so glad you linked this up at Booknificent Thursday and I hope you'll keep coming back and linking up your book-related posts!
