We haven't done much school this week. My husband's job is almost over, so we have been packing and cleaning most of the week. We are all so ready to come home it's crazy! It has been almost 8 months since we have been home. We are supposed to leave Saturday; we will drive as far as we can, stop at a hotel for the night, and drive the rest of the way Sunday.
We did a lot of reading this week. Just reading for fun, no pressure. Eli is reading the 39 Clues books, which is a fun and interesting book series!
Silas completed some pages in his Dyslexia Games workbook. These really seem to be helping him with visual discrimination. He loves to do these logic pages! I let him use a fine tip Sharpie which he thinks is special! I don't know if he is dyslexic or not, but he shows many symptoms. I would rather teach him like he is dyslexic and help him now, than ignore it and have to reverse it later.
Mercie finished Book 1 in Singapore Math 2! She is excited to start Book 2, but I told her she has to work on her multiplication facts first. I'm ordering her this book to use until after Christmas:
There are so many books I want from the Thinking Tree! I love the beautiful pages and the approach to learning that Sarah Janisse Brown uses.
I worked in my Mom's journal this week. I use my Reading Time pages for Bible journal and study.
Mikaela and I running errands in the cold.
I had Silas do a letter reversal activity this week. I cut out a Christmas tree from green construction paper and penciled in lowercase "b"s and "d"s. He had to dot paint red on the "d"s and green on the "b"s for ornaments! He loved it. I had to help him a lot because he has so much trouble even telling me how the "b" and "d" are different.
I tried to take some pictures of these cute little boys in their shirts and ties this week.
Also, I'm having a give-away again {they are so much fun!}, so please click here and enter! I'm giving away a First Nature Encyclopedia! I plan to have at least one a week until Christmas, so keep checking back in with me. You can subscribe to my blog on the sidebar.
