A really good pencil sharpener.
I cannot stress enough how important this is to a homeschool family! We have and love this Bostitch electric sharpener. It works well with pencils and colored pencils alike. It gets a lot of use in our house! So much easier than a hand-held 50 cent pencil sharpener or a battery-powered one that always needs batteries. {P.S. It's on sale from $32 to $18 right now!}
Good pencils.
Hands down, Ticonderoga pencils are the absolute best pencils out there. They always sharpen quickly and perfectly and rarely break! We keep a nice supply of these at our house.
A globe.
We have a globe, but this globe is on my wish-list! It's a regular geographical globe by day, and in a dark room, the globe shows the constellations! My kids would love this!
Laminator.
I cannot count how many laminating sheets I have used over the years! Laminators are great for everything you want to reuse or don't want to get torn or bent. I have used mine for pages I want the kids to use dry-erase markers on, flash cards, game cards, and so much more!
Paper cutter.
A paper cutter is so convenient to have, especially when cutting apart flash cards or when you need a straight cut.
Encyclopedias for kids.
We love these "First" Encyclopedias by DK Publishers. We have several, and I would love to have this Nature Encyclopedia! There are many topics to choose from, such as the human body, dinosaurs, animals, science, space, earth and more! Best of all, they are all around $12 each!
Homeschooling Mom Handbook.
This Homeschooling Handbook for Moms is great! There are 180 fun activities to do, like planning your day, journal space, organizing and more!
Sharpies.
Who doesn't love Sharpies? And these colors are amazing! Enough said.

I'd probably most like the Ticonderoga pencils. They really are the best! I'd add an electric spiral comb binder to the list...the industrial kind. They are so useful for the homeschool, and I couldn't get by without mine!
ReplyDeleteOh, that's a good idea! I don't have one, but would love one!

ReplyDeleteAww thanks. :-) I love Sharpies, too.
DeleteLOVE that Moms Homeschooling Handbook! Must check that out. :)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely! Those journals are awesome!!
DeleteWell, oh dear. i have ALWAYS wanted a globe for our school so that's awesome. Of course, I can't LIVE without dry erase markers and sharpies and then my laminator does double time most of the year So....what would i add - a dry erase board and markers and tracing paper. And I agree with Kelly above, i would LOVE to have a spiral binder machine. Maybe someday :) But I haven't seen this Nature Encyclopedia. Looks awesome. Thanks for the great giveaway.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a white board. I'm sort of addicted to colorful expo markers.
DeleteDouble sided tape is what I'd add to your list. We use it all the time. It's neater than glue and doesn't give a wavy affect. We still use glue but use double sided tape more.
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower of your blog :)
And I'll be back to grab your button ;) I need to get school going with the kids right now.
Oh yeah, double sided tape! Excellent.
DeleteAnd I added your button to my sidebar :)
DeleteA fast, laser jet printer! With lots of ink & paper!
ReplyDeleteI'd be lost without my printer!
For sure! My printer has been abused, lol!
DeleteI would add tons of plain paper and tape! We go through lots of paper and LOTS of tape. I love the Sharpies, though. They are somewhat of a draw for me.
ReplyDeleteYes, we go the gh enormous amounts of paper, white and colored!
DeleteI love my comb binder. It makes being organized easy. A great list that is much needed in any homeschool room.
ReplyDeleteI am going to have to get a comb binder. I can think of so many ways I would use it.
DeleteMe too, it's been on my homeschool wishlist for years. I don't think I'll be getting one :( but that's okay.
