We had another smooth and fun week this week in Bigger!
In science, we learned more about the seashore. We did an experiment to see what factors affect the changing of the seashore. We put cornmeal {sand} into a dish, and blew on it {wind}, dropped water on it {rain}, and made waves wash over it. The kids did their experiment sheet.

{10 year old's}
They also drew pictures of animals that live in the sea and in the 'shower'.

Our poem this week was called "Sea Fever". It was more difficult to read than the previous two, but the kids still enjoy listening to it.
{10 year old's}
{7 year old's - Mercie added star stickers to her sky, which I thought was very creative.}
In history, we read about John Smih and Henry Hudson. We used masking tape to make a compass rose on the living room floor, and they had to follow directions {N, NE, S, SW..etc}. They all joined in on the fun.
We defined vocabulary words.
In art, we had to draw a tree, without picking our pencil up, without looking at our paper! It was fun, and I let the kids use watercolors to paint them.
They memorized Proverbs 16:3 this week, and we talked about boldness.
{writing her spelling words}
{Singapore 2A}
{Eli working in his Explorer Bible study}
{Rod and Staff 5}
We are still enjoying Singapore math and Rod and Staff English. We are having fun with Bigger Hearts. The kids have asked for more history activities, so I may find a few extras for next week.
{see how much she loves it?!}
Little Hearts for His Glory
In Bible, Silas learned about Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Esau. He colored a picture of Abraham, glued it to a blue piece of cardstock, and added tons of star stickers to represent the descendants promised to him by God.
He memorized Proverbs 20:11, and did his copywork/coloring worksheet
We used Batman as "Isaac", a deer as the "ram" and placed Isaac on the altar, and then found the ram God provided as a sacrifice.
We talked about different smells, and he glued pictures of thing we can smell to his worksheet.
He made cards with the numbers 1-5 on them. I had him use one crayon to trace the one, two to trace the two, and so on. Then he added the appropriate number of stickers.
He did several pages of handwriting, math, thinking skills, and phonics.
We read in our Reddy Fox book, and he drew mad face for Granny Fox and a happy face for himself.
He is having a blast with Little Hearts!
Little Hands to Heaven
Titus had fun this week with Little Hands.
{putting 1 chocolate chip in each square}
{gluing animals on the ark}
{glued buttons to a letter B}
{float or sink?}
{animals in the ark}
{The B says "b"}
{gluing paper squares onto a glue rainbow}
{tada! He was so proud.}
Titus wants to "glue" something every single day. We may have a lot of extra crafts this year!
