We finished up our third week of homeschool this week! It's been a great three weeks, and Zeke and Zoey have really fallen right into a good routine each day. I tweaked our schedule once, but it takes us from 8:00 to 11:00 each day to complete our schoolwork. Here are some of the things we've done!
Zeke, grade 3
AROUND THE WORLD - GEOGRAPHY
Week One - We learned about the deciduous forest biome to introduce the kids to North America. Zeke learned about food chains, the forest strata, the four seasons, and all about soil.
Week Two - We kicked off our geography lessons with the United States! Zeke drew a bald eagle, made a magazine flag mosaic, and blow-painted some fireworks over a New York City silhouette.
Week Three - We went to Mexico this week and got our first passport "stamp." We read all about monarch butterflies and made monarch butterfly mosaic, made some maracas, and made our own pinata! We ate tacos, rice and beans to conclude our trip to Mexico.
SCIENCE
Week One - We learned all about matter this week!
Week Two - We learned about organic and inorganic matter.
Week Three - We learned about Carl Linnaeus, binomial nomenclature, and classification.
MATH
Zeke reviewed many concepts the first two weeks and was introduced to multiplication this week, which he is super excited about!
LANGUAGE ARTS
Zeke is reading "Charlotte's Web" and will finish it up next week. He would have read it in a day, but I'm having him complete a Literature Kit along with it.
He reviewed the four types of sentences and how to fix a run-on sentence.
We've been reviewing consonant digraphs in Language Smarts.
He worked in handwriting each day.
BIBLE
We have completed seven lessons in Bible Study Guide for All Ages, breaking the lessons into two days each. We love this! I read the verses from the Bible and they complete their worksheets. We have memory work and timeline questions. I really like how this is set up! The kids are learning quite a bit. I even made an Instagram reel!
Zoey, Preschool
LET'S EXPLORE LETTERS
She learned the letters A, B, and C this week.
LET'S EXPLORE MATH
Zoey reviewed the colors and shapes with a variety of hands-on activities and worksheets.

All in all, it's been a fantastic three weeks, and I'm excited for the rest of the year!
