It looks like a lot, but she only has science 3 times a week, and the other 2 days she has writing. She also does art on the two days she has writing. She starts at 8:30 ish in the morning, and is always done by lunchtime!
My daughter used America the Beautiful the year before she started HOD. She really enjoyed it. That was back when the books came spiral bound not the hardcover edition.
